Mince and potato tidyup
Dinner
It's what I do when I've used half a packet of mince for something else and don't have the ingredients or imagination for something more interesting to use for the remaining half.
Cooking method: Pan fry
Serves: 2
Time: Quick - less than 30 minutes
Difficulty: Easy - a child could do it
Equipment
- Frying pan
- Steamer
Ingredients
- Condiment, cube, or tube
- Beef stock - 1
- Drink or liquid
- Wine (red) - some
- Eggs / cheese / dairy
- Cheese (camembert) - some
- Meat
- Mince (any) - 250 gm
- Vegetable
- Garlic (chopped) - some
- Mushrooms - some
- Potatoes - some
- Carrot - 2
- Onion (chopped) - 1
Method
Set your steamer pan to the boil. Once it's boiling, put in some chopped carrots and turn it down to simmer. After a couple of minutes whilst you're doing the next bit, add the potatoes, sliced.Heat some oil in a frying pan, and start frying some chopped onions. After a bit add the mince, then after another bit the garlic. Grate some salt and pepper over that, crumble in a stock cube, and add some wine. Let it simmer. When the potatoes and the carrots are nearly done in the steamer pan, add them to the mince pan, and break up some mushrooms into it; stir it all about, top up the liquid if you think it's running dry for you. Chop up some camembert into chunks and stir that in, and when it's all nicely melted serve the whole thing.
