Do you find yourself often cycling through the same meals, week after week? Do you have a wall full of recipe books you rarely use, because of the faff involved in selecting one, leafing through it, choosing a recipe, noting down the ingredients to get, and then keeping the book open in the kitchen whilst you're trying to follow it when you're cooking?
The Cheat Cuisine could be for you. If you're a logged in user you can put in your own favourite recipes, and build up a meal plan for the next few days which will automatically generate a shopping list of ingredients for you to get, and then follow the recipe on your tablet or phone in your kitchen. Or just search and browse without joining as a member.
Of course, this is (going to be) just another recipe website in a very crowded marketplace of recipe websites. The others don't really solve my problems in the way I want to solve them, that's why I've built it around my requirements. If you have a meal planning problem to solve that this will work better for you than the alternatives do, you're welcome to give it a go also.
Roadmap
It now basically works just for me. There's a whole bunch of stuff I'm intending to do to make it work even better for me, and hopefully work for other people, too:
General design and layout improvements - right now it is, admittedly, just thrown together in that regard,
The ability to set up a proper user profile,
Additional options for how login works,
The ability to follow other users, like a social network blah blah blah, and get inspiration from what they're having for dinner,
The ability to rate, comment on, and offer suggested variations on recipes,
The ability to edit recipes after you've submitted them when you make mistakes,
Specific searching for vegetarian recipes,
General improvements to search,
The ability for users to enter and update the contents of their pantry,
...and then the ability to show which recipes can be easily made from what you've already got in your pantry,
The ability to just offer up a random selection of meals for the week, and
Just for fun, wouldn't it be fun if it could make up randomly generated recipes based on what ingredients other recipes tend to combine together?
As well as anything else I can think of based on how much other people appear to be using the site.
